Fort Royal Tour, Sainte-Marguetite Island

Fort Royal Sainte-Marguerite Island

During the tour, you will discover the Royal Fort which was used as a prison from the 17th century. You can then visit the Maritime Museum, which occupies the fort’s main building. This is home to Roman water tanks, the cell of the Man in the Iron mask, the Huguenot memorial, and collections of terrestrial and underwater archaeology (Roman and Saracen wrecks). It also hosts temporary exhibitions.

Guided tours are available from 15 June to 15 September (several tours per day). The tour is free upon payment of the admission charge to the Royal Fort (€6)

The National Forestry cCmmission (the ONF) organises guided tours throughout the year for groups, by appointment only.

During the tour you will discover a spiritual place founded in the 5th century. Lérins Abbey, with its seven chapels and ruins from the past, runs guided tours and wine and liqueur tastings (for groups only).
