Located in the heights of old Cannes (Le Suquet district), in the remains of the old monks’ castle, the Place de la Castre and its museum overlook La Croisette, the bay and the Lérins islands. The Place offers an amazing view as night falls with the evening lighting. Find out more

Location and access: To get there, the simplest way is to start in Rue Saint-Antoine (the starting point of Le Suquet) and climb up to the Traverse de la Tour. On foot, count on it being 10 minutes from the Palais des Festivals. Google Maps.

Photo tips by local photographers :
slpcannes: An unmissable view for us photographers; the best times are in the morning at sunrise and at nightfall as the lights reflect on the sea, with the port and the Palais des Festivals in the foreground.

Gilles Traverso: At the end of the afternoon, at sunset, when the colour of the sky and sea vary.

monsport06: For the more motivated, it’s a great spot for the sunrise. If not, give preference to the end of the afternoon (but not too late either or Le Suquet gets shady :)) for great light exposure over the town.
